Israel Keyes's Suicide Note -
Original Format
Shortly before his suicide, Israel Keyes wrote a message on two sheets of paper from a yellow legal pad. The fact that they were written in both pencil and pen suggests (at least to this researcher) that the two sheets may have been composed at different times... but as they were both found crumpled underneath his body, they are collectively referred to as his suicide note. The writing was initially deemed illegible because the paper was soaked in blood (Israel Keyes: Writings | Federal Bureau of Investigation, 2019). However, the FBI laboratory in Quantico, VA was able to scan the images and enhance them to the point that is seen below. These images were released to the public on February 6, 2013. The FBI declined to give any commentary or provide an official transcript, stating instead that "people will have to draw their own conclusion as to their meaning" (Silverman, 2013).
These images show the actual suicide note written by Israel Keyes. Sheet 1 is reversed in order to present a more cohesive narrative, as described in our Israel Keyes Suicide Note: Restructured article.
